Vision

It is the vision of Victorian Infection Control Professionals Association (VICPA) to be a leader, key resource and advocate in the field of infection prevention and control for all health settings.

Mission

Preventing infection through safe practice.

Values

  • Professionalism - VICPA recognises and supports professional standards of practice and behaviour
  • Collaboration - VICPA encourages infection control professionals to work together, with external partners, other healthcare workers and the public in achieving common goals
  • Innovation - VICPA seeks to support and engage members in the development of infection prevention and control.

VICPA is a voluntary not for profit association representing Victorian Infection Control professionals and other healthcare workers with an interest in infection prevention and control.

Key Strategic Issues:

  • Awareness of increasing complexity in advanced professional development requirements.
  • Promotion of accountability within the VICPA executive team.
  • Promotion of open constructive and inclusive debate within the membership.
  • The need to clarify VICPA's role & function to promote effective articulation with other key groups.
  • Further development of an open and effective relationship with AICA.
  • Fostering member participation in association activities.
