ACT Infection Control Association

The ACT Infection Control Association joins with the national body AICA in their quest to support those engaged in the specialist practice of infection control, as well as the broader health care community, in relation to infection prevention and control by acting as an information broker to its members.

This is a not for profit organization of like minded volunteers work across the public and private sector in the ACT and surrounding region. This orgainsation promotes infection prevention and control strategies by coordinating and promoting education sessions and campaigns, and encouraging networking between members.

A high level of professionalism is encouraged by the provision of financial assistance to members to undertake advanced education or attend conferences and other educational opportunities. This includes the development of a "resource box", containing copies of information for loan.

Elaine Graham Robertson is a valued past member of our association and an inaugural member of AICA, who paved the way for the infection control professionals of today. In recognisition of her work a scholarship in her honor is awarded from the ACT to an AICA member presenting an oral presentation at the biennial national conference. Details are available from the AICA web site.
